ICEfaces 1.8: Next Generation Enterprise Web Development is now available in print. The book is as much about ICEfusion, a set of model classes and Facelet components built on ICEfaces, as it is about ICEfaces itself. Developing a framework that embodies the lessons of a book can be a very effective (and testable) way to communicate. Many thanks to Rainer for this great contribution to the ICEfaces community.

September 14, 2007 - ICEfaces Community Is Impacting Open Source AJAX

As was hoped, the entry of ICEfaces into the open source market created a huge stir. Adoption of the ICEfaces platform exploded in terms of both users and influence. Users were attracted across the board, from dozens of industries and thousands of mid- to large-scale enterprises. Three out of four users downloaded ICEfaces for the purpose of creating new JSF applications, reflecting the fast-growing nature of AJAX as well as the appeal of ICEfaces to Java developers. Initial production rollouts of applications using ICEfaces started to occur within weeks of launch.

July 16, 2007 - Getting Started with ICEfaces in WebLogic Workshop

ICEsoft's ICEfaces framework provides a way to Ajax-enable standard JavaServer Faces (JSF) applications without writing custom client-side Javascript code. This is a short introduction to using the ICEfaces tooling add-on for BEA WebLogic Workshop. This tutorial covers installing the ICEfaces tooling, creating an ICEfaces-enabled project, and using ICEfaces and JSF to easily create an Ajax-enabled application to display and enter data. Because ICEfaces is adding Ajax capabilities to the regular JSF programming model, it is assumed that you have some familiarity with JSF.
